ABOUT OUR LIBRARY

Our library is small but growing!

As of early 2009 we have a total of 2142
Christian books for Adults, Youth, and Children,
as well as 449 various Christian Videos/DVDs.
New items may be added weekly.

Organization:

- Non Fiction Adult Books are categorized
under the Dewey Decimal System.

- Adult Christian Fiction is arranged alphabetically
by authors' surnames.

- Youth and Children's books are arranged by
series and by age groups.

Checkout System:

The checkout system is simple, using two checkout
binders - one for books, the other for videos.

Returned books & videos are to be placed in the blue
plastic Book/Video Return bin on the floor by the entrance
to the library. A librarian will check & refile items to
the shelves

  Library Index:

An Index Binder on the library table contains
alphabetical indexes of all library items, and is
updated every 2-3 months.
Requests:

Requests for particular books, videos/DVDs, or
other materials are welcomed.
Please speak with the librarian.

Donations

Book or video donations are welcomed. The donors
realize that all donated materials are left for the librarian's
discretion regarding suitability for the library.
Unneeded materials may be given away.

Operation:

We operate under the Honour System, as our library
is often not manned, and is totally open and available
to everyone. May God Bless our readership and our library

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
For Our Library
The main goals of our library here at First Baptist Church of Penticton,
are to provide a collection of books, videos/DVD's and related materials
for members and friends which will:

1. Serve all who want to grow in their understanding of the Christian Faith,
their knowledge of God, their walk with God's Spirit, and their desire to
    know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour;

2. Encourage Christian responses to life situations and experiences,
    through faith and a growing understanding of the Spiritual Life;

3. Provide for, and support the ministries of our church, that we all may
keep striving to learn, and to grow in our faith.
